Biofilm is the common thread between periodontal disease and dental caries. Biofilm forms immediately after dental prophylaxis and has been shown to cause or contribute to a plethora of oral-systemic issues. Proper home care will help to manage the biofilm and help our patients to maintain a healthy oral environment.
Following this CE webinar, the participant will be able to: • Discuss the formation of biofilm and its etiology in inflammation • Compare the benefits of power and hand brushing • Evaluate the variety of interdental oral aids • Create options of home care for individual outcomes • Value a program of oral hygiene instruction per patient
